Facility to host Lyon College Institute of Health Sciences' Dental and Veterinary Schools
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 19, 2022) – OneHealth executives announced today that they have entered into a binding agreement to purchase Heifer International’s Little Rock campus located at 1 World Avenue. The facility boasts approximately 94,000 square feet of office space, situated on 28 acres in the vibrant East Village area of Little Rock.
The facility will serve as the Lyon College Institute of Health Sciences’ main campus. Lyon College, along with its partners at OneHealth Education Group, recently announced plans to develop Arkansas’s first dental and veterinary medicine schools.
“We are thrilled to locate the Lyon College Institute of Health Sciences at 1 World Avenue,” said Dr. Melissa Taverner, president of Lyon College. “We are excited to share space with Heifer International, which has dedicated more than seventy years to improving human nutrition and animal health locally and abroad.”
“Lyon College is proud of its strong science programs that have prepared undergraduate students for 150 years,” said Perry Wilson, Chairman of the Lyon College Board of Trustees. “We are now prepared to leverage that success for the dental and veterinary programs we are developing.”
Heifer International has signed a long-term lease to remain at the campus, occupying a reduced footprint in the main building. The organization is redesigning its office space, focusing on strengthening collaboration and partnership across its global network.
“Heifer International has reiterated its commitment to Little Rock by signing a long-term lease and we are excited to welcome new values-aligned partners to the campus,” said Hilary Haddigan, Chief of Mission Effectiveness at Heifer International. “Selling the Little Rock campus enables us to unlock more resources in support of our life-changing work to end global hunger and poverty, while providing more flexible work options to staff.”
The main building at the campus will host other tenants including the Clinton Foundation. Additionally, the event venue space will honor all bookings through the end of 2023.
“East Village is poised to be a hub of future economic growth in central Arkansas, we are excited to build upon the foundation that Heifer International has made in promoting health solutions for Arkansas and the world,” said Merritt Dake OneHealth Companies.
